I've been writing for a long time now. Poems, policies, learning materials, travel articles, research documents etc etc. It was only at the tender age of 62 that I ventured into writing my first novel (though I had played with short stories for some time since a child). As I write this, I had just finished walking along the foreshore of where I live. A man approached me as I was writing another poem and asked if I could call the police as he had seen a group of youths vandalising the local council park nearby.
